We are pleased to announce the release of AesirX Consent Management Platform (CMP) for WordPress v1.3.0, introducing Category-Based and Granular Consent Controls.
This update improves user control, making consent management more intuitive while enabling compliance with GDPR, CCPA, ePrivacy Directive, LGPD, and other global regulations.
While most consent solutions miss tracking technologies like scripts and beacons, AesirX CMP for WordPress manages all forms of tracking to provide a more transparent and compliant experience.

What’s New in AesirX CMP v1.3.0?
Category-Based Consent for All Tracking Technologies
Traditional consent management platforms primarily handle cookie-based consent, often neglecting scripts, beacons, tracking pixels, and JavaScript-based tracking. With this update, AesirX CMP enables Category-Based Consent, allowing website admins to manage all tracking technologies under clearly defined categories:
- Essential Tracking – Required for website functionality (e.g., session cookies, security tracking).
- Functional Tracking – User preferences and site enhancements (e.g., language settings, live chat).
- Analytics Tracking – Visitor behavior monitoring (e.g., Google Analytics, Matomo).
- Advertising Tracking – Targeted advertising and remarketing (e.g., Facebook Pixel, Google Ads).
- Other / Custom Tracking – Additional third-party integrations (e.g., customer support tools, CDNs).
How it Works:
- The admin panel now allows category assignment for detected third-party scripts and plugins.
- Before tracking is allowed, users must opt into each category separately or accept all.
- If a user revokes consent, all tracking under that category is immediately disabled.
- The Shield of Privacy now supports category-based blocking, preventing unauthorized tracking before consent is granted.
Why This Matters:
Many consent solutions lack proper tracking categorization, leading to compliance issues and user distrust. AesirX CMP offers a clear, structured, and enforceable approach to consent management across all tracking technologies.

Granular Consent within the Customize Function
AesirX CMP has always supported granular consent at the point of need, allowing users to opt into specific tracking elements when necessary. With this update, granular consent is now available within the Customize function, giving users more precise control over their privacy preferences.
New Features in Customize View:
- Users can selectively enable or disable tracking technologies within each category rather than accepting or rejecting an entire category.
- Each tracking technology is clearly listed under its respective category, allowing individual consent choices per service.
- More detailed descriptions explain what each tracking element does and why it is used.
Why This Matters:
Many consent banners present overly broad categories, requiring users to accept all tracking under a category or reject it completely. This approach often leads to misinformed consent. AesirX CMP provides true transparency, allowing users to choose exactly which tracking services they consent to.

Updated Consent Modal for Better Transparency
The consent modal has been redesigned to provide greater clarity and improve user experience.
New Features:
- Category toggles allow users to enable or disable tracking categories individually.
- Expanded “Customize” view enables detailed control over individual trackers.
- Improved category descriptions help users understand what they are consenting to.
- No pre-checked boxes, complying with GDPR’s explicit consent requirement.
Why This Matters:
Many CMPs use dark patterns to push users toward accepting all tracking. AesirX CMP maintains full transparency, making it clear what data is collected, why, and by whom before consent is given.

Upcoming Features: Geo-Handling, Opt-Out Mode, and Consent Logging
The next phase of development for AesirX CMP includes:
- Geo-Handling for Consent Models – The system will automatically determine whether an Opt-In (GDPR) or Opt-Out (CCPA) consent model applies based on the user’s browser language and time zone, without relying on third-party GeoIP services.
- Opt-Out Mode for US Regulations – In compliance with CCPA and VCDPA, tracking will be enabled by default with an option for users to opt out, including a “Do Not Sell or Share” option.
- Improved Consent Logging & Compliance Monitoring – A new Consent Log system will track consent status, modifications, timestamps, and tracking categories. This will enable compliance reporting and audits, for businesses to meet regulatory requirements.
These features are in development and will be introduced in future updates.
