Why Organizations Matters

Enterprises rarely operate as a single legal entity. A parent company may have subsidiaries in different jurisdictions, each subject to different regulatory frameworks. A large corporation may have dozens of departments and business units, each with distinct data processing activities and compliance obligations. When these entities are managed in separate systems – or worse, in a single flat structure that cannot represent hierarchy – compliance visibility breaks down.

Enterprise DPOs (P-VN-01) responsible for group-level compliance face a structural problem: they need to see the compliance posture of every entity in the group, rolled up into a consolidated view for executive reporting, while simultaneously ensuring that each entity's compliance program reflects its own jurisdictional requirements. A subsidiary operating under Vietnam's PDPL has different framework obligations than one operating under the E-Commerce Law, and both need to be tracked within the same platform.

Without organizational hierarchy, compliance data is either siloed by entity (no group visibility) or flattened into a single tenant (no entity-level distinction). Department-level task assignment, reporting, and access control all depend on a proper organizational structure. Compliance rollup reports that aggregate scores from subsidiaries to the group level are impossible without a hierarchy to aggregate against.

Organizations provides multi-entity management with a full department and business unit hierarchy. Each entity can be assigned its own regulatory frameworks, reflecting its jurisdictional obligations. Cross-entity compliance rollup aggregates scores and status from subsidiaries up to the group level for consolidated executive reporting. Entity-scoped configuration ensures that each organization's compliance program reflects its actual structure, while delegated administration lets entity administrators manage their own organization without group-level access.

How It Works

Multi-Organization Management

Create and manage multiple organizations within a single platform instance. Each organization operates with its own compliance data, user assignments, and configuration. Organization groups model parent/subsidiary relationships, giving group administrators a consolidated view across all entities.

Multi-Organization Management

Department and Business Unit Hierarchy

Model your internal structure with division, department, and team levels. This hierarchy gives compliance tasks and reports the organizational context they need — tasks can be assigned to specific departments, reports can be filtered by business unit, and access can be scoped to organizational boundaries.

Department and Business Unit Hierarchy

Cross-Entity Compliance Rollup

A hierarchical compliance dashboard aggregates scores and status from subsidiary entities up to the group level. Group leadership sees a consolidated executive view showing which entities are on track, which have gaps, and where intervention is needed — without manually collecting reports from each entity.

Cross-Entity Compliance Rollup

Entity-Level Framework Assignment

Assign different regulatory frameworks to different entities within the group. A subsidiary subject to the VN PDPL receives PDPL-specific compliance modules and templates, while another entity subject to the E-Commerce Law receives its own framework configuration. This supports enterprises operating across multiple jurisdictions with distinct compliance obligations.

Entity-Level Framework Assignment

Delegated Administration

Assign administrators per organization. Entity-level administrators manage their own organization's users, configuration, and compliance activities without requiring group-level privileges. Group administrators retain oversight across all entities.

Delegated Administration

Intake Configuration

Configure public intake forms per organization. Each entity can have its own intake settings — such as DSR submission forms or whistleblower channels — branded and configured independently.

Built for Real Compliance Operations

Department and business unit hierarchy supports division, department, and team levels – giving every compliance task, report, and access control decision the organizational context it needs.

Cross-entity compliance rollup aggregates subsidiary scores into a group-level dashboard, providing executive leadership a consolidated compliance view without manual data collection.

Entity-level framework assignment enables multi-jurisdiction enterprises to run distinct compliance programs per subsidiary from a single platform instance.
