Usage & Cost Governance | Forseti AI

Overview Image

Why Usage & Cost Governance Matters

A country compliance manager rolling out an AI advisor across a privacy, legal, risk, and audit team has to defend the AI budget every month. "How much did we spend, on what, and is it sustainable?" is a question the finance team will ask before the second renewal cycle. An AI tool that cannot answer that question loses the renewal.

Forseti's Usage Dashboard answers the question by default. Consumption breaks down by user (top consumers in the period), persona (which specialist personas the team is reaching for), feature (chat versus workflow versus tabular review versus document review), workflow (which of the 20 cross-module workflows is firing most often), and external integration key (for organisations running the MCP Connector, which integration is consuming the most tokens). The country compliance manager can see exactly where the AI spend is going and plan the next month's allowance.

The Reconciliation view closes the loop. The platform tracks its own bucket draw; the upstream provider issues an invoice; the Reconciliation view matches the two and surfaces any drift. The country compliance manager hands the finance team a reconciled view, not a "trust us" summary.

Bucket exhaustion does not silently fail. When the monthly bucket is exhausted, the platform shows an in-product affordance, "monthly bucket exhausted, buy a top-up bundle?", and the underlying tool runner returns a structured 402 to any integration calling it. Workflows do not fail silently; users do not lose context.

Usage & Cost Governance Features

Token Allowance & Top-Up Bundles

Monthly token bucket per tier with mid-period top-up

Every ComplianceOne tier includes Forseti with a monthly token bucket scaled to the tier. When the bucket is exhausted, customers can buy supplementary top-up bundles through the Usage Dashboard. There is no separate AI add-on SKU; AI is part of every tier.

Drill into the monthly token bucket. See the top consumers in the period. See which specialist personas the team is reaching for. See which feature class (chat / workflow / tabular review / document review) is consuming the most tokens. See which of the 20 cross-module workflows is firing most often. See ‘for organisations running the MCP Connector’ – which external integration key is drawing the most.

Frequently Asked Questions About Forseti Usage & Cost Governance

No. Forseti is included in every ComplianceOne tier: Light, Standard, and Enterprise. The differentiator across tiers is the monthly token bucket, which scales by tier. Customers can buy supplementary top-up bundles through the Usage Dashboard when the monthly allowance is exhausted; bundles are an opt-in purchase, not an automatic upgrade.

The Usage Dashboard breaks consumption down by user, with the top consumers in the period shown first. The same dashboard also breaks consumption down by persona, by feature class (chat / workflow / tabular review / document review), by workflow, and (for organisations running the MCP Connector) by external integration key.

The platform displays an in-product affordance – "monthly bucket exhausted, buy a top-up bundle?" – and the underlying tool runner returns a structured 402 response to any integration calling it. Workflows do not silently fail. Top-up bundles are bought through the Usage Dashboard and apply immediately.

Yes. The Reconciliation view matches the platform's tracked bucket draw against the upstream provider's invoice. Drift is flagged explicitly for reconciliation. The country compliance manager hands the finance team a reconciled view, not a summary that requires trust.

On the Enterprise tier, yes, the underlying model identifier is visible to Enterprise admins. On Light and Standard tiers, consumption is reported in billable units; the underlying model identifier is not shown because the model choice is part of platform operations rather than a customer-tuned setting.
